Well, that's it. As of Sunday, March 12th (the last day of the quarter), I am done with grad school! I turned in my last paper and took my last quiz that day. Then H took me out to dinner, Mambo Italiano in Fairhaven. We also had a celebratory breakfast with the kids at the Uptown on Tuesday. H has set up a graduation party this Saturday - chess and music and beer and friends - that I'm really looking forward to. And her and the kids have been giving me graduation gifts. So far, a UW shot glass and a UW Alumni coffee mug. They've been very thoughtful and supportive, just as they have been for the last 2 1/2 years.

It's still sinking in. I have my MLIS. Now I want to apply it in some way - I've applied for a Systems/Instructional Librarian position at Whatcom Community College, there are two positions at Bellingham Public Library I should apply for, and one with the Whatcom Library System I need to look at. But I'm really waiting for (and keeping my fingers crossed for) the new Systems/Cataloging Librarian position at WWU which should be coming soon. Someday. I just need to be patient and wait for it.

But man, do I ever want that job! It's a position I could stay in for the rest of my career, and I enjoy working at WWU's library. And we could stay in Bellingham! Sigh. It's hard not to get my hopes up too far...
