Um, I didn't get the usability/web designer job. It went to a candidate who was a web designer with Amazon(!) and who has never even done any usability testing (!!) - though she's observed them....

So, it seems they wanted a web designer rather than a user experience person who could design and lead testing, as well as implement results. I'm still fantasizing that it won't work out for her and that they'll call me back saying "Wait, it was a horrible mistake - we really wanted you all along".

So, next I'm applying for a librarian position at Bellingham Public Library, Head of Reference no less! We'll see...
